BACKGROUND
TLAR Models is a new company offering some home grown subjects not available anywhere else. This USCG Point Class cutter set adds a pair of 82' cutters and a YR Barge for your 1/700 scale waterline fleet.

HULL
The two waterline hulls are cast as single pieces, hull and superstructure on a thick wafer. Casting is good with only some minor bubbles on my samples. It's hard to make out the details due to my monotone photos, but the shape looks good. Click images

YR Barge
The barge casting is also cast as a single piece. This is a generic supply barge and can be modified to represent a specific prototype.
RHIB's
Two small and one large RHIB are included for mounting on the cutters.
METAL AND PLASTIC PARTS
Two lengths of brass rods are included to fabricate the Mast, and RHIB booms. Plastic square rod and some detail parts allow you to fabricate the other details.
INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions are five pages that describe the build in great detail. They are written from a modelers perspective and are informative AND entertaining. Location of holes and cut lengths are included. This is a pretty simple kit, however a bill of materials identifying the parts would be helpful. You can how Chris built has on his Gallery page.
Conclusions:
Perfect for your harbor diorama or as stand alone models to compliment your Shrimpin boats. These little cutters should make an enjoyable project. I look forward to Chris Rhiner's next creations!

This is kit #616 1/700 Resin USCG Point Class 82-foot Cutter Set for around $25. It is available via TLAR Models E-Bay store
