Veteran Models has released an upgrade set, set VTW35003, which contains 34 resin parts, 16 brass barrels and a photo-etch set, enough to make four 40mm Quad Bofors, Mk-2 Mounts, along with four Mk-51 directors.  The 40mm Quad Bofors was widely used the United States Navy during World War II as an air defense weapon.

Quad 40mm Bofors MK-2 Mount
Each gun (there are four in the set) is comprised of five resin parts, fours brass barrel and multiple brass photo-etch parts.  The resin parts - especially the bases for the mounts - are well cast, and have good detail.   The parts are extremely delicate, and I found some parts were broken in my sample.  There was also a little bit of flash on some of the parts.  There are also four well cast Mk-51 directors included in this set.
TURNED BRASS BARRELS
There are sixteen turned brass 40mm barrels in this set.  These look very good.
PHOTO-ETCH
The photo-etch is well done, with almost a dozen parts for each quad mount, and a couple of parts for each Mk-51 director.
INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are on one side of a small, color sheet, and look easy to follow.   However, they don't seem to show where resin part R4 attaches.
CONCLUSIONS
This is a very detailed set of 40mm Quad Bofors mounts.  There is very nice detail, and the brass barrels and photo-etch are both well done.  On the other hand, it's also a very complex set, with about 20 or so parts to make one quad mount.

This is Veteran Models set VTW35003, 1/350 40mm Quad Bofors Gun Mount, Mk-2.  It retails for around $18.00, and is available from many of our sponsors. Thanks to Veteran Models for the review sample.   Recommended for more experienced modelers, especially those in the super-detail crowd, who really want their USN ships to stand out.
