Classic Warship Publishing has released a new book, the 49th in it's Warship Pictorial line.   This one focuses on the battleships, or Schlachtschiff, as the Germans called them, of the Kriegsmarine in World War II.  This is the second volume Classic Warships Publishing has released on German battleships, and it has all new photos as compared to Volume 1.
This book has 72 pages, featuring some 80+ images, including some colorized photos along with a few original color photos.   The content is heavy on pictures of the twins - Scharnhorst & Gneisenau - with some pictures of Tirpitz (none after her deployment to Norway).  There are also a lot of photos of Bismarck.  In fact, the last 15 or so pages of this book are exclusively dedicated to this famous warship, and contain all Bismarck related photos, including some Royal Navy photos of her demise.

There are lots of full page photos and a few two page glamour shots.   My favorite of these two page spreads is a March 1941 photo of Bismarck in an icy Kiel Canal.   There are no line drawings or color profiles included.

Conclusions:

If you are a fan of these very handsome foursome of ships, or just a naval history geek, you'll want to add this book from Classic Warships Publishing to your library.  It will be a handy reference for modelers and a nice companion to Warship Pictorial 39.  Highly Recommended!
