| If your building one of the new Trumpeter Nimitz class
carriers in 1/700
or
1/350 scale
you have probably already stocked up on aftermarket details. Now all you
need is a some good reference material. Ray Bean, professional photographer
by trade has compiled this photo CD of Nimitz class detail pictures. This
one CD has 168 high resolution JPEG images of the Nimitz CVN-68,
Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN-69, Abraham Lincoln CVN-73, and George Washington
CVN-74. The photos are taken from 70's to present day and show all areas
of the ship. A sampling of images is shown below. Please note that all
these have been reduced in size and formatted for the web. |

The images on the CD are print quality and range in size from 168 kilobytes
to 3 plus megs and sizes typically around 3600 pixels wide. To view the
images just pop in the CD and display them using your computers file browser
just like images on your hard drive. |
| The image on the right was resized to make it easier to view on the
web. I cropped out a section of the image at it's original size to show
a portion of the image actual size relative to the resized web version.
As you can see the image is large enough to determine what colors to paint
the aircraft handlers on the deck. The photos show everything from the
radar's and mast details, to the defensive weapons, and aircraft handing
equipment. More than enough to get a good idea of what's on the ship. |

| CONCLUSIONS |

 Currently
Ray D. Bean has 20
volumes of photo CD's available. There are other titles on the rest
of the Nimitz class and many other US Navy subjects. If you like to superdetail
your ships, then this is just the tool you need. This one runs $20 and
