Molded in brown plastic which seems a bit harder than the normal Revell Germany plastic. I like the choice of brown intead of black; makes it easier to see what you're doing.

The surface detail looks good, e.g. the anti-skid area and the lateral sonar arrays. The "X" tail may pose a few alignment difficulties, but the hull has a good fit.

I like the non-symmetrical bow tubes, and the different shape of this sub. I look forward to building it soon. I also hope the Sachsen Class ships in the background on the cover are a hint of something in the future....
