The Pegasus Class Patrol boats were built to provide a fleet of fast patrol vessels to protect important choke points throughout the world. The ships however turned out to be very expensive and the project was canceled with only six ships being built. They operated from the mid 70's until they were decommissioned in the early 90's.

Specifications:

  • Armament one 76 mm gun mount, eight Harpoon missiles

This kit from White Ensign represents the Pegasus as she was built. The hull is cast as one piece in tan resin with no visible defects. There is a good amount of surface detail present.

The main guns and hydrofoil wings are all cast in white metal. Detail is pretty good here too with a minimum of flash.

Railings, radar and other parts are supplied on a brass photo etch fret.

The instructions consist of four pages front and back with parts lists and detail views showing how the parts go together. There are color plan and profile views showing how the ships is painted, a nice touch.
