Skywave 1/700 LST Mk2
WW2 US Navy Tank Landing Ship

Reviewed by Timothy Dike
The LST was a vital part of Allied amphibious operations. These ships could sail right up to the beach head and unload tanks and trucks through their huge opening bow doors. Skywave now under the Pit-Road name produced this kit years ago and at the time it was state of the art in waterline. Even by today's standards it is still a great little kit.
There are two identical sprues in each kit with parts to build two complete LST's. The hull and superstructure are pretty good but the weapons are somewhat primitive. You could always replace them with those in the New E-6 weapons set. Also in this set are several Sherman Tanks, 6x6 Trucks, Dodge weapons carriers, and LCVP's. Click images

The instructions are printed on the back of the box and while they are in Japanese, the pictures are enough to show how it goes together.
The decal set includes enough numbers to do any ship in the class. Flags of the US and England are included. There are also a number of stars for the tanks and trucks in the set.

Conclusions:

A nice little kit, a good choice for those wanting to do a diorama. It is easy to build and has a lot of super detailing possibilities
