Skywave 1/700
WW2 US Navy/Royal Navy Landing craft

Reviewed by Timothy Dike
Skywave now under the Pit-Road name produced this kit years ago and at the time it was state of the art in waterline. It is now out of produtions but I still see it on E-bay or at swap meets. This is one of those kits that really got me hooked on 1/700 waterline. While I had many battleships and carriers, it was really cool to be able to have an entire landing force.
There are two identical sprues in each kit with the top and bottom shown in the image on the right. In it there are two each of the LSM's, LCI's, LCT's, and rocket equiped LCT(R)'s. The parts are well molded and fairly detailed, but all represent rather generic landing craft. There is a canvas cover for the LCT if you wish to cover yours.  Click images

The decal set includes flags of the US and England are included. Hull numbers are provided for a number of LCI and LSM's.
The instructions are printed on the back of the box and while they are in Japanese, the pictures are enough to show how it goes together.
Conclusions:

A nice little kit, a good choice for those wanting to do a diorama. For accuracy I would go with some of the resin kits that have come out since these were made.
