Preview of HP's NEW Yorktown and Hornet by Christoph Mentzel
Yesterday I have visited the Intermodellbau in Dortmund. There I have meet Harald Pöpcke and bought by him
the new kits of the Yorktown-class carriers.

HP has realized the three ships of this class as they looked in 1942.

CV 5 USS Yorktown
CV 6 USS Enterprise
CV 8 USS Hornet.

Next month follows the 44 version of the USS Enterprise with a new hull and island.

All of the now realized ships have the same hull and the middle section of the flight deck. The islands, plattforms, bridges are all different and for my first impression shows the differences at that point of all three ships. The bow and stern of the flight deck a sperate parts and the flight deck of the Hornet is a different one. All of the other parts are the same. The kits include 12 resin aircrafts. Wildcat/Dauntless and Avengers. I think that these are the same as from Tamiya only in resin. The hangar is detailed and the roller door  thin so it is possible to be removed if you wish to show an open hangar. The flight deck is very finely scribed to show the wooden planks. The hull and the hangarsides a very detailed. Overall there is not much of resin to sand most of the parts are on a thin resinfilm.

Up to now I think it is good kit and I'm happy to have them.
