Hot on the heels of Trumpeter's latest New Orleans class cruiser 1/700 USS Astoria CA-34, and with the 1944 USS San Francisco soon to be released, WEM has released a PE detail set for these famous Pacific Theater warriors of the United States Navy.

This set consists of a single densely populated fret of photoetch.

PHOTOETCH

PART A

This set has well over 75 parts, and has the detailed pieces needed for a New Orleans from either early or late war. Multiple search and fire control radars are to be found, as well as plenty of single 20mm and 4 quad 1.1" (Chicago Piano) AA mounts.

There are two finely detailed seaplane catapults and derrick cranes, and plenty of pre-shaped railings for the main deck and subsequent areas. The six quad 40mm Bofors mounts have plenty of detail, including a circular base, and there is a nicely relief-etched upgrade for the seaplane hangar doors.

Rounding out this set are a myriad of ladders, boat parts, davits and platforms. There are even some detail parts for the SOC Seagull seaplanes. There are no doors, or floater net baskets included in this set.

INSTRUCTIONS

Four sheets of instructions are included, totalling 8 pages of instructions. These instructions include numbered silhouettes of the etched frets identifying all the parts.
