Tom’s Modelworks has sent us a new
set of 1/350 photo-etch railings for us to check out:
The set comes in the usual Tom's Modelworks packaging. |

There is one fret included. As per
Tom's website: Fine, three-bar railing with
extended stanchions for awnings. Also included are
tripod supports for awnings. . These are very thinly etched sheets of brass rails, so be careful when removing them from the fret. |

| These extended
rails with tripods will be a useful set for anyone who
wants to display their model as if she was moored.
The more ambitious modeler will then be able to add
awnings to their model, using these rails and tripods
for support. While these rails seem to be geared to the
US navy, and the instructions use USS Pennsylvania as a
reference, I suspect that you'd be able to use these for
just about any ship, from almost any navy, if you wanted
to display is as mentioned. Another nice set of
rails from Tom's Modelworks. Recommended!
This set retail for $18.00 USD each, which I think is a great price. These sets are available directly from Tom's Modelworks, whom I'd like to thank for this review sample. |
