Alliance ModelWorks has a new set of USN doors and hatches for your 1/350 ship projects. The set consists of two sprues one with doors and hatches open and the other closed. Both frets are protected by a thin transparent plastic film on both sides.
FRET 1
The first fret is relief etched with a variety of doors and hatches. The doors consist of the frame and gutter rail with a front and back that are designed to be folded over to give a very realistic assembly. There are a variety of sizes and shapes typical of US Navy ship design over the last 100 plus years. The set is listed as WW2, but the coal scuttles are more appropriate for turn of the century ships. There are also some really nice grills with louvers that can be opened by bending the slats outward. This is the kind of detail that makes a kit stand out in a crowd.
