Decal Sheets
The USS Nimitz decal sheets come in two slightly larger than index card-sized pieces of paper. The instruction pamphlet provides an excellent, rigid structure to prevent damage to the decals. All markings are clear, with sufficent room between decals to allow even the slightly clumsy modeler a relatively easy ability to cut out each individual marking. Both sheets are well-organized, bright, clear, and clearly labelled with the appropriate number corresponding to the instructions. Copies of both shaded and unshaded hull numbers are provided, allowing the modeler to accurately depict two styles of the markings. No imperfections or damage were evident when this review was performed.

Starfighter includes, as part of the rigid backing, an excellent, fold out set of deck plans with clear demarcations where each decal should be located on the supercarrier. The sheet also provides instruction on how to approach any variation in placement, or design (her island marking), based on the time period that the modeler wishes to display. All instructions are clear, conside, and immensely useful. Starfighter even provides some humorous guidance on UNREP markings present on the carrier.

CONCLUSIONS
This is an excellent and valuable aftermarket item for anyone wishing to model USS Nimitz in her as-launched configuration to her first major yard work in 1983. Both the decal sheets and instructions are bright, clearly labeled, and of excellent quality, which is always expected from Starfighter Decals. This item retails for $35.00 and can be found at several online hobby retailers.

I want to express my sincere thanks to Starfighter Decals for the opportunity to review this item.
