Chemical Blackener for brass

Freetime Hobbies is known for carrying the extensive line of Master Models machined gun barrels. Their parts are machined so fine, that it seems a shame to add a coat of paint to them. Now you have an alternative to a thick coat of paint. These 50 ml bottles have enough fluid in them to blacken a whole fleet of ships and then some.
There are a ton of applications for this product. I think it will really come in handy on photo etch mesh and other details that paint would tend to clog and cover up the details. The blackener would give you a dark color without covering up the surface detail.

For tips on using this product see the thread on the ShipModels.info forum here

CONCLUSIONS
Blackener has been around for a long time, but I haven't seen it used much in the model ship world. The applications seem endless with all the aftermarket brass parts and photo etch on the market.

A 50 ml bottle #MASMM001 sells for $4.99 at Freetime Hobbies.
