L'Arsenal 1/350 Douglas A-1 Skyraider

Reviewed by Timothy Dike
The Skyraider was designed during WW2 as a long range single seat bomber that could deliver both torpedoes and bombs. It entered service too late for that war, but did serve in both the Korean and Viet Nam wars. It was a large aircraft with distinctive lines. This 1/350 set from L'Arsenal captures that look and feel perfectly.
RESIN PARTS
Five aircraft are included in the set with a brass photo etch fret. The aircraft are mostly one piece with separate rear wings. The cowlings are nicely detailed with a nice propeller hub attached. Click images

PHOTOETCH
A fret of propellers, and landing gear is provided to give the aircraft more detail.
INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are a single small illustration with notes showing where the parts go. Adequate for a simple aircraft set like this.
CONCLUSIONS

This is a nice little set that can be used for post war carriers or even an Air Force Sandy from the Viet Nam era.  I wish the rear wings had locating slots, but otherwise these aircraft are pretty cool. You get five for for $10.00 US. You can order them from L'Arsenal, or from Tony Bunch @ L'Arsenal USA or wherever fine ship accessories are sold.
