Gunthwaite Miniatures 1/72
British and Commonwealth Seamen; Round 3

INTRODUCTION

Gunthwaithe Miniatures has released 3 new packs naval figures in 1/72, the first new release in 2 years. Suitable for either R/C or a static display, these would look great on a Flower class corvette or an Airfix MTB, as well as many other RN offerings in 1/72.

The well-sculpted figures are in packs of three and will retail at £6.25 per pack. The figures are supplied unpainted.

These figures are all well cast in white metal, and will require little to no cleanup.

CONCLUSIONS

At £6.25, or about $9.75 US per pack of three, these figures are a great deal, and are sure to add life and detail to your 1/72 RN or Commonwealth project. Heartily Recommended!

Thanks to Gunthwaite Miniatures for these review samples. Gunthwaite plans to expand the range in the future to include RAF groundcrew, and Fleet Air Arm aircrew.

There are a few new features in our website. These are in response to feedback we have received. First I have started to expand the painting guide. Secondly, the painted figures within the photographs in the Gallery, all have badges and insignia made from waterslide transfers (decals). I have included my artwork which may be downloaded to enable transfers to be made at home. I explain how I make and use the transfers including a link to Crafty Computer Paper (www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk) who provide a range of transfer papers. Thirdly I've set out my views on scale. This is in response to a few queries about the size of Gunthwaite 1/72 scale figures and whether they can be mixed with 1/76 scale railway and armour models and other figures. I hope these will be useful additions to the website.
