1/700 FlyHawk
WW2 Royal Navy Aircraft Set I

Reviewed June 2016
by Timothy Dike
FlyHawk has been taking the model world by storm with their new highly detailed plastic injection molded kits.  They have been filling gaps in the royal navy line with some long overdue subjects.  This new set ads three new types of Royal Navy carrier aircraft.
SPRUE GB28
The first is a tried and true Fairey Swordfish torpedo bomber.  There are eight aircraft included and they can be shown with their wings folded or deployed.  Each aircraft is very detailed with separate engine Cowlings, thin propeller blades, separate landing gear, and even a separate torpedo. SPRUE GB29
Six Fairey Fulmars are included with intricate molding detail.  These aircraft also have a wing fold option.  Separate landing gear and propellers are also included.

SPRUE GB30
Four Hawker Sea Hurricane's are included also with finely molded panel lines.  They include separate props and landing gear.
PHOTOETCH
A Brass photo etch fret is included with the swordfish wing bracing, machine guns, and new propellers just in case you don't like the plastic versions.
DECALS
Details are provided for each aircraft.  They are sharply registered and include roundals.  And tail markings.
INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions are a single page front and back with plenty of subassembly views for each aircraft.  The painting guide is provided on the back of the box showing decal placement as well.
CONCLUSIONS:
This is that we'll make a great upgrade for those older royal navy carriers now on the market.  Or as extra aircraft for the much anticipated new FlyHawk royal navy carriers coming soon.
