Flyhawk has released a set of masks for their 1/700 HMS Prince of Wales (FH1117), set FH710030, HMS Prince of Wales 1941.12 Masking Seal.  The set contains a 9 x 4.5" sheet of pre-cut masks for Prince of Wales

The Masking Seal

The pre-cut sheet feels almost like Tamiya masking tape.  I peeled off the mask that covers C turret barbette.   It came off easily, the backing doesn't feel like it has an excessive amount of adhesive on it.  Which means it probably won't leave a stick residue.   The masks are extremely thin, so be careful when removing them and applying them to the model.  The masks are extensive, enabling you to cover the main decks, all the superstructure decks (even the top of the starfish!) and  the main battery turret tops.   It looks like the main deck is cut into sub-sections, so you won't have to try and mask large sections of deck at once.
INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are are located on the back of the packaging insert.   They are very simple and self explanatory.
CONCLUSIONS
This masking set is made specifically for Flyhawk's basic Prince of Wales kit (FH1117).   The masks are sharply cut, and easy to remove from the backing.  They are also very thin, and you should be careful when removing them from the backing and placing them on the model.   These masks are a great idea, and should cut down building time for those of us - like me - who like to airbrush our decks and horizontal surfaces before painting the rest of the model.   I am assuming these are meant to mask plastic parts, I don't know how these would work over a wood deck.  If you are planning to use them in conjunction with Flyhawk's wood deck upgrade set (FH710029), I'd do some tests beforehand.

This is Flyhawk set FH710030, the Masking Seal set for their Prince of Wales kit. It retails for around $10.00.  Thanks to Flyhawk for the review sample.   Highly recommended.
