BMK Modelmarine.de Shop has released a needed upgrade for your Trumpeter USS San Francisco CA-38, for both the 1942 and 1944 versions; brass barrels for the main guns.

This set of 9 machined brass barrels have few if any machining marks. As is the BMK practice, the barrels have been drilled out and have a small pin left to aid mounting to the plastic blast bags. The BMK barrels have a shorter recoil sleeve which appears more prototypically correct than the plastic barrels included in the Trumpeter kit.

The 8"/55 Mk 12, 15 was used on Minneapolis, Tuscaloosa, San Francisco, Quincy, Vincennes, Wichita as well as the Baltimore/Oregon City classes.

They retail for 13.50 Euros, or about $17.00, and are well worth it. You can order them direct from the Modellmarine Shop or where ever BMK accessories are sold.
