Classic Warships Books
reviewed by Timothy Dike
Classic Warships is back with another Warship Pictorial. This one by Steve Wiper also features the photo research of Ron Smith of  The book covers the North Carolina Class Battleships from bow to stern in super detail.
The book is divided into two sections, one covering the North Carolina and one for the Washington. Both include some historical data, photos, and drawings taken at various times during their careers. The photos are excellent and many I have never seen before in print. The photos include captions with details noted that you may have overlooked on first glance. The photos are organized from the building of the ship to their end. Not only are these books fascinating, they are educational, and I learned things I didn't know about both ships.  click to

There are even a number of nice color photos that will help answer some of the color questions on these ships. The centerfold features the North Carolina in Ms 22 in October 45. There are also color profiles showing Washington in Ms 1, and North Carolina in Ms 12 mod  and Ms 32-18D.
This book is not only a valuable resource, it is an education on these ships. Whether you are a model builder or a historian, this book belongs in your library.
