Volume 8 CV-61 USS Ranger

by Kelly Quirk

Ray D. Bean, a well known modeler and professional photographer by trade, has compiled this photo CD of USS Ranger detail pictures.

The images on the CD are print quality and range in size from 168 kilobytes to 3 plus megs and sizes typically around 3600 pixels wide. To view the images just pop in the CD and display them using your computers file browser just like images on your hard drive.

Note the sample image included here are all reduced versions that are formatted for the web and significantly lower resolution than those on the CD's.

There are over 100 pictures of the Ranger, from as early as 1957 to her final appearance, and everything in between throughout her career.  Ray has gone through the trouble of captioning almost every photo, so you know exactly what you are looking at.  One image is a nice set of line drawings.  This CD is perfect for ship modelers, with detailed close ups of masts, hangar bay, radars and more.

CONCLUSIONS
Currently  Ray D. Bean has 20 volumes of photo CD's available. There are other titles on many other US Navy subjects. If you like to superdetail your ships, then this is just the tool you need. This one runs $20 and is available direct from Still Motion Photographics. A must have for the Carrier fan.
