This book is the fifth in a series of books covering some of the famous ships of war. This one covers the Battleship Tennesse from beginning to her end.
The book include a large number of photo's showing the Tennesse at all times during her career from her prewar years, through her Pearl Harbor ordeal, to her modifications and upgrades. There are extensive pictures showing both the damage from the attack and the resulting repairs that returned her to service.

Besides the photos there are color renderings such as the one on the right showing the contrast between her 1942 Post Pearl Harbor appearance and her 1945 late war fit after she was radically modified. Plans are also included showing her prewar 1935 fit in plan and elevation.
Her reconstruction is well documented in photo's and text showing the many changes she underwent during her career.
