Here is a look inside the latest issue of Model Ship Journal, and a sample of some of the articles included.

On the cover: Is a stunning Scratchbuilt model of the USS Saratoga by Kent Strapko of the Colorado Club in Aurora Colorado. 

French Tripartite Class Minehunter FNS Orion (M-645) covers these compact little minehunters in a series of detail photo's by Noel Paris, with background and history by Victor Baca. The L'Arsenal 1/350 kit is also reviewed in this issue.

Making Rigging from Pantyhose Strands by Adrian Koh describes how he uses this inexpensive medium to make rigging that is durable and very forgiving. A series of line drawings illustrate the technique.

1/192 Flower Class Corvette Part 3 Building the hull appendages. Victor Baca shows us how he added a bilge keel and stem plate to his fiberglass hull in this ongoing buildup. 

Classic Plastic in Review Ken Fiero takes a look at Polar Lights Seaview the sub form the 60's TV series "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea"

Prop Shop: Making Model Propellers by Kieth Bender is a step by step how-to on fabricating brass propellers from scratch. All phases of construction are detailed with plenty of photo's to illustrate each step as you go.

HMCS Digby (FSE-179) Coastal Escort Conversion. A plan review and photo feature of the Bangor Class minesweepers, with text by Victor Baca and photos and drawing from the National Archives of Canada. Drawings include plan and elevation views with deck levels, hull lines, and mast rigging.

Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier Kaga. Steve Wiper brings us a stunning look at a the model by Hideharu Murai that has to be seen to be appreciated. You will probably not recognize this kit as the Hasegawa kit as it has been extensively reworked to correct the flaws in the original kit.

Revell of Germany's New 1/72 Schnellboote S-100 Type Motor Torpedo Boat. Reviewed by Steve Wiper shows us not only the kit but also some of the aftermarket accessories available to perfect it.

Sovremenny By Trumpeter. Victor Baca cover the kit and resources available for it.

IJN Battleship Kirishima. Covers this stunning buildup of this Classic Warships Battlewagon by C.J. Parker. Steve Wiper presents the ship in a number of awe inspiring views of this first class recreation.

USN 110' Subchaser Hull: Victor Baca examines this Microglass fiberglass hull and compares it to the real prototype.

Heavy Weather Operations by Don Spielberger. Don gives the RC modeler some valuable tips on operating your ship in heavy seas (or ponds), and how to survive them.
