Modelarstwo #57

Reviewed February 2016
by Timothy Dike
Polish Ship Modeling Magazine Modelarstwo issue number 57 is out. I originally skipped this one, but it is still available and worth a look. This one features the Arleigh Burke-class Flight IIA destroyer USS "OSCAR AUSTIN" DDG-79, drawn up in 1/200 scale on a double A1 sheet. Another feature is the German AWISO (fleet tender) "Grille" with plans drawn in 1/400 scale.

In the 3D ship equipment section we have drawings and renderings of the Saab Bofors RBS15 Mk III Rocket launcher. Photos and color plan and profile of the ORP ORKAN shows that weapons system deployed.

The colorful profiles of the British escort destroyers of the "HUNT" class continues with part seven: HMS "ALDENHAM" and HMS "CATTERIC". These are well drawn showing port and starboard sides of the ships.

The CAD renderings are great and the plans are very well drawn. There are more photos including new product reviews and model photos to enjoy.
CONCLUSIONS

This magazine is yet another helpful resource for the ship modeler. The photos and plans offer something for all kinds of modelers. The illustrations are first class and having the plans is a big bonus!

While most of you probably don't read Polish, this well illustrated magazine is still a great value. The detailed drawings and illustrations are reason enough to subscribe or at least order back issues like this one.
