Modelarstwo #47

Reviewed October 2013
by Timothy Dike
Polish Ship Modeling Magazine Modelarstwo issue number 47 is here with even more drawings, photos, and plans. This one covers US Coast Guard cutter USCG-20 from 1944 and includes some nice 1/25 scale drawings complete with hull lines. German Destroyers are covered with some excellent color profiles showing camouflage patternsof Z23 and Z31. The German Cruiser SMS Breslau is the subject of some 1/400 scale drawings from the 1917 fit.

My favorite feature is the wonderful renderings of the USN 5" 25 cal Mk 10 open gun mounts found on most prewar Cruisers. These are wonderfully drawn and rendered and also show ammo storage and even practice mounts. There are plenty of "eye candy" with some great examples of modeling in the gallery section.
CONCLUSIONS

This magazine has something for all modelers. Plans and drawings to use to scratchbuild your own ships, or reference material to help you build a better kit.

While most of you probably don't read Polish, this well illustrated magazine is still a great value. The detailed drawings and illustrations are reason enough to subscribe or at least order back issues like this one.
