Norfolk Naval Base Tour at the IPMS 2008 Nationals
The 2008 IPMS Nationals were held in Virginia Beach, VA. A perfect venue for Ship enthusiasts with US Navy ships all over the place. The IPMS Tidewater crew put together a tour of the Norfolk Naval base and specifically the USS Leyte Gulf CG-55. These photos show that ship and the ships in the immediate area.  A big thank you to the crew of the Leyte Gulf for giving us such a fine tour and putting up with us modeling geeks on their ship. The Vella Gulf was alongside and are featured in some of the close ups. The rest of the photos are from a drive up and down the piers showing everything from the big Carriers to the Frigates.
